This position provides litigation and corporate governance support to the General Counsel & Secretary and Executive Vice President & Assistant Secretary with regard to litigation, corporate governance and legal data analysis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares case summaries and monitors key litigation matters as directed by inhouse counsel.
  • Assists in preparing for corporate, board and shareholder meetings.
  • Analyzes of legal data to assess trends in legal spend and litigation patterns. Applies analyses to appropriate strategic responses.
  • Coordinates and provides key project initiatives as requested by General Counsel and Corporate Counsel regarding all aspects of legal matters and corporate governance.
  • Prepares reports to include areas of litigation management, legal spend and developing strategic initiatives in department management.
  • Communicates and coordinates with personnel across various company groups including offsite facilities locations and with outside counsel.
  • Coordinates department meetings and maintains project plans and schedules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in legal or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in an in-house legal department or in a litigation-oriented law firm.
  • Certification (Registered Paralegal or Certified Legal Assistant) from a recognized professional society or state agency.
  • Experience and proficiency in use of Legal Tracker, Microsoft Office, Relativity, Summation, and PACER preferred.
  • Flexible and motivated to take ownership of projects and demonstrate follow-through.
  • Independent, self-starting, and self-motivated for high performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
